Product: AI Dream Reflection
Platform: iPhone / iOS
1. What AI Dream Reflection Does
AI Dream Reflection is a private dream journaling and reflection app. Users can write down a dream, optionally tag emotion and sleep quality, and receive a structured reflection. The app is designed as a journaling and self-reflection aid, not a prediction service and not a medical tool.
2. Current App Status
Based on the current project state described in the repository, the app includes a functional MVP shell with local journaling, onboarding, draft autosave, a journal screen, and reflection display. The reflection generation flow is currently mocked in the present build and may not yet use live AI generation.
3. Common Questions
My dream was not saved. What should I check?
Draft text is designed to autosave while you write. However, a dream is only added to the journal when you complete the reflection flow and explicitly save the current entry to the journal.
Why do I see a reflection even though there is no real AI yet?
In the current MVP architecture, reflection output may be simulated for demonstration and product testing purposes. This helps validate the user flow before live AI integration is added.
Can I edit a saved dream?
The repository description focuses on saving, reading, searching, filtering, and deleting entries. Editing previously saved entries may not yet be available in the current build.
Can I delete a dream?
Yes. The journal flow includes deletion functionality for saved dream entries.
Can I search my journal?
Yes. The journal is described as searchable and filterable, including emotion-based filtering.
4. Privacy and Local Data
The current build is described as offline-first and stores data locally on the device. No account is required in the current implementation. If you reinstall the app, reset the device, or clear local app storage, locally stored data may be lost unless future export or backup features are introduced.
5. Reflection Content
Reflections are intended as gentle psychological prompts and journaling support. They are not statements of fact, not medical advice, not therapy, and not crisis support. Use your own judgment when engaging with the content.
6. Future Premium Features
The repository references future premium-oriented placeholder features such as:
- Privacy Lock;
- Export Journal;
- Subscription Management;
- possible future AI-based premium functionality.
If any of these features are not yet active in your version of the app, that means they are still planned, stubbed, or under development.
7. Future AI Support Questions
If live AI reflection is added in a later version, support topics may include:
- reflection generation failures;
- temporary provider outages;
- unexpected formatting in output;
- privacy questions related to externally processed dream text;
- differences between local and network-assisted reflection modes.
If such features are introduced, the app’s support and privacy documentation should be updated accordingly.
8. Troubleshooting
The app is stuck on loading
If a future version introduces live AI calls, loading issues may result from network or service errors. In the current mock flow, loading should complete automatically after the simulated delay. Restarting the app may help if the interface becomes unresponsive.
My onboarding is gone
Onboarding is intended only for first launch. After completion, the app stores that state locally and does not show the onboarding flow again by default. Relevant trust and disclaimer information should still remain accessible from Settings via the About or Disclaimer section.
I changed devices and lost my journal
The current version is described as storing data locally via UserDefaults. If no export, sync, or cloud backup feature has been added to your version, journal data may not transfer automatically between devices.
9. Mental Health and Safety
If dream content, reflection content, or emotional material causes distress, consider pausing use of the app and speaking with a qualified mental health professional. The app is not designed to replace professional care.
