1. What the App Is
AI Dream Reflection is a native iOS dream journaling app with psychological framing. Users write down a dream, optionally tag how it felt, and receive a structured reflection designed to support self-observation and gentle introspection.
The app is built around three reflection outputs:
- Insights — pattern-oriented observations about what the dream may be processing;
- Questions — open-ended prompts intended to support reflection;
- Daily action — one small suggestion for what to notice, do, or avoid that day.
2. What the App Is Not
AI Dream Reflection does not claim to interpret dreams as objective truth. It does not predict the future, diagnose mental health conditions, provide therapy, or make medical decisions.
The app is a journaling aid, not a clinical, therapeutic, or emergency support tool.
3. Product Philosophy
Many dream apps are built around symbolic decoding or prediction-style claims. AI Dream Reflection takes a different approach. The core idea is that dreams may surface thoughts and emotions that feel unfinished, unresolved, or worth noticing — and that structured reflection can help users sit with those themes more intentionally.
The product is designed to feel calm, private, and non-sensational.
4. Current Product Status
The current version is an MVP shell with complete UI flow, local storage, onboarding, draft autosave, journal browsing, and mock reflection generation. In the current build, live AI reflection is not yet active; reflection output is simulated for product flow purposes.
5. Who the App Is For
AI Dream Reflection may be useful for:
- people who already journal or want to start;
- users curious about emotional patterns and inner themes;
- people who prefer a private, offline-first app experience;
- users who want reflection prompts rather than “dream meaning” claims.
6. Trust and Privacy Direction
The app is built with a privacy-conscious product direction. In the current MVP, user entries and reflections are stored locally on-device. No account is required for normal use, and no public-sharing or social feed model is part of the core product.
If live AI generation is added later, the product intends to keep disclosures clear and user understanding explicit.
7. Onboarding Trust Statement
The app’s onboarding flow includes an explicit trust/disclaimer step before the user begins journaling. This is intentional. Users should understand the emotional framing of the app before entering sensitive personal content.
8. Mental Health Boundary
AI Dream Reflection is not a substitute for professional mental health care. If a user is experiencing significant distress, crisis, or ongoing mental health concerns, the appropriate next step is to contact a qualified professional or emergency resource where relevant.
9. Intended Experience
The intended user experience is reflective rather than authoritative. The app should help users pause, notice, and consider — not feel judged, diagnosed, or manipulated.
10. Future Direction
Planned future features may include live AI reflection, privacy lock options, journal export, sharing tools, and subscription-based premium features. These are product roadmap items and may change over time.
