AI Dream Reflection (“the App”) is an iOS application developed and operated by Dzianis Huletski (“Developer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). The App is designed as a dream journaling and self-reflection aid. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App stores, how it is processed, what stays on your device, and what may change if optional AI-powered reflection features are introduced or enabled.
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.
1. What the App Does
AI Dream Reflection allows you to write down dreams, optionally add an emotion tag, rate sleep quality, and generate a structured reflection. The reflection is intended to support personal journaling and self-observation. The App is not designed to diagnose, predict outcomes, or replace professional mental health care.
2. Data the App Stores
The current version of the App is designed to store data locally on your device. Depending on how you use the App, stored data may include:
- dream journal text that you enter;
- selected emotion tags;
- sleep quality ratings;
- the “include context from yesterday” preference;
- generated reflection content, including insights, questions, and daily actions;
- draft text and draft form state used for autosave;
- journal history and timestamps;
- the onboarding completion flag and other local app state.
In the current build, this information is stored locally using on-device persistence and is not tied to an account.
3. No Account Required
The current version of the App does not require account creation, login, or user profile registration. You can use the App without creating an online identity inside the product.
4. Local Storage
The current implementation stores app data locally on the device using UserDefaults and JSON encoding. Your dream entries and generated reflections remain on your device unless you explicitly export, share, back up, or sync them through operating system features outside the App.
Because the App stores sensitive self-reflection content, local-only storage is a core privacy characteristic of the current build.
5. AI Reflection Generation in the Current Build
In the current MVP shell, the reflection generation logic is mocked. This means the interface simulates AI reflection generation, but no real external AI provider is called in the current build described in the repository documentation.
As a result, dream text is not transmitted to a third-party AI provider by the current build solely for reflection generation.
6. Future AI Processing
A future version of the App may introduce real AI-generated reflections through a third-party AI provider or a secure backend service. If that happens, the App may process dream text and related context outside the device in order to generate reflection output.
If real AI processing is introduced, we intend to provide clear notice before or when such functionality becomes active. That notice may explain:
- what dream content is sent for processing;
- whether emotion tags, sleep quality, or context toggles are included;
- which provider or backend processes the data;
- whether the data is retained, logged, or deleted after processing;
- what user choices or controls are available.
If this type of external processing is added, this Privacy Policy and the related AI Reflection Data Handling page will be updated accordingly.
7. Sensitive Content Considerations
Dream journal entries may contain emotionally sensitive, personal, or intimate information. For that reason, the App is intended to minimize unnecessary data collection and to present reflection as a journaling aid rather than factual interpretation.
You are responsible for deciding what information you choose to type into the App.
8. Analytics and Tracking
The current repository documentation states that there are no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no crash-reporting SDKs in the current build.
If analytics, advertising, telemetry, or cross-app tracking features are added later, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any disclosures required by Apple or applicable law.
9. Sharing and Export
Some future versions of the App may add export or share features for journal entries or reflections. If you choose to export or share content, that action is initiated by you. Once content leaves the App through a share sheet, export file, cloud storage destination, or another app, it becomes subject to the policies and practices of that destination.
10. Face ID / Privacy Lock
A future premium feature may introduce a privacy lock using Face ID or another local authentication method. If implemented, biometric authentication would generally be handled by Apple’s system frameworks. We do not intend to receive or store your biometric templates ourselves.
11. Subscription Features
The current build does not yet include StoreKit subscription logic. If subscriptions or premium features are added later, billing and payment details would typically be handled through your Apple ID and App Store account. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
12. Data Retention
Your locally stored journal entries, drafts, and reflections remain on your device until you delete them, overwrite them, remove the App, or clear device/app storage through system-level actions.
If future external AI processing or cloud features are introduced, retention periods for any externally processed data will be described in an updated policy.
13. Deleting Your Data
You can delete saved entries from the journal interface inside the App. Deleting the App may also remove locally stored app data from the device, subject to Apple’s device and backup behavior.
If a future version introduces export, sync, or cloud-based processing, additional deletion mechanisms may be provided and described separately.
14. Children’s Privacy
The App is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly design the App to collect personal information from children as a primary audience.
15. Security
We take reasonable steps to reduce unnecessary exposure of dream journal content by keeping the current version simple and local-first. However, no software, device, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
16. International Use
The App may be used internationally. If a future version uses cloud services, backend processing, or third-party AI providers, data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country depending on the infrastructure and provider chosen at that time.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may revise the effective date above and publish the updated version on the App’s legal pages.
