PDF Converter Ultimate (“the App”) is a mobile application for iOS developed and operated by Dzianis Huletski (“Developer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes, what permissions it uses, what data stays on your device, what may be transmitted externally, and what choices you have.
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.
1. What the App Does
PDF Converter Ultimate is designed to help users scan documents, import images and files, convert supported content to PDF, preview and share resulting PDFs, and manage saved documents on their device. The App supports local document management, including search, sorting, renaming, deleting, starring, and sharing. Supported image and scan conversion flows are designed to work on-device. Office-related conversion routes may require server-based processing if introduced in a future version.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
The App is designed primarily around local storage. Files and related metadata are generally stored in the App’s local sandbox and may integrate with the iOS Files system where appropriate. Depending on how you use the App, local data may include:
- scanned document images;
- imported photos selected from your gallery;
- imported files selected from the Files app;
- generated PDF files;
- file names and metadata used for sorting and display;
- starred or favorite document markers;
- history of converted documents;
- local app settings and usage state;
- subscription state as needed for app functionality.
This local data remains on your device unless you explicitly share or export it, or unless a future server-based conversion feature is introduced and used by you.
3. Camera, Photo Library, and Files Access
The App may request access to certain device capabilities in order to perform user-requested actions:
- Camera access — to scan paper documents using the device camera;
- Photo library access — to import selected images from the gallery;
- Files access — to import supported files from the iOS Files app and to export or share generated PDFs.
These permissions are only used to provide the features you actively choose to use.
4. On-Device Conversion
The App’s currently supported image and scan conversion flows are designed to work on-device using native iOS capabilities. This means that common conversion routes such as image-to-PDF and scan-to-PDF do not require sending file content to our servers in the normal supported flow.
This local-first design helps reduce unnecessary transmission of personal or document data.
5. Future Server-Based Conversion
Some advanced conversion routes, especially Office-related conversions such as DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, or reverse conversions from PDF to editable Office formats, may require a server or specialized SDK in a future version of the App.
If such server-based conversion is introduced, we intend that:
- data will be transmitted securely over HTTPS;
- files will be processed only as needed to complete the requested conversion;
- files will be deleted from the server after the session or within a limited retention period necessary for processing, subject to the technical implementation used at that time.
If we introduce such processing into a released version, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before or when the change takes effect.
6. Sharing and Export
The App allows users to preview and share generated PDFs through native iOS sharing tools. Any file or document you choose to share is shared by your own action. Once shared outside the App, that content is governed by the policies and practices of the destination service, app, or recipient.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
The App may offer premium access through Apple StoreKit 2, including a free trial and paid subscription. Billing, renewals, cancellations, and restore purchases are handled through your Apple ID and App Store account.
We do not collect or store your full payment card information.
8. Analytics and Tracking
The App architecture includes an analytics abstraction, but no specific external analytics vendor is required for the core app experience unless explicitly introduced in a future version. If analytics or advertising-related tracking is added later, we will update this Privacy Policy and implement any required user disclosures and permissions.
If App Tracking Transparency becomes applicable because of analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking behavior, we will present the appropriate iOS permission prompt as required.
9. Crash Reporting
At the time of this policy, no external crash-reporting provider is described as required for the current release configuration unless expressly added in a future update. If external crash reporting is introduced later, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
10. Data Retention
Locally stored files, history, and metadata remain on your device until you delete them, remove the App, or use an in-app cleanup function such as clearing history or cache.
If future server-based processing is introduced, retention of uploaded files will be limited to what is technically necessary to complete the requested conversion and operate the service safely.
11. Deleting Your Data
You can delete files, rename files, remove saved documents, and clear history or cache through the App’s document management and settings features. Deleting the App may also remove App-local data from your device, subject to iOS storage behavior.
12. Children’s Privacy
The App is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly design the App to collect personal information from children as a primary audience.
13. Security
We take reasonable steps to reduce unnecessary data exposure and to design the App around privacy-conscious local processing where possible. However, no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. International Use
The App may be used internationally. If future server-based processing is introduced, data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country depending on hosting and infrastructure choices.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may revise the effective date above and publish the updated version on the App’s legal page.
